Ultramodern is an index of exemplary software: real products that set the bar, cataloged in one comparable shape. Fourteen projects from twelve organizations at launch, faceted by form, platform, source model, pricing, stack, and role.

It is an ode and a reference base. These are the products we measure our own work against and hold it to, and the index exists to make that measurable: how unique a thing is, in function and in design. How close any one thing sits to any other. What the best share, and where each stands alone.

This is an early version. The index grows from here, and the analyzer that measures a codebase against it is the half still in the lab.

Parts of it will be wrong. Like everything the lab builds, the index is agent work: agents research, agents draft, agents audit, and each inaccuracy caught teaches those systems. Reporting comes separately: a way to flag an inaccuracy or leave a comment, aimed at anything in particular.
